Finast (Finasteride) - 5mg (30 Tablets)

What is Finast?
Finast works by decreasing the amount of the natural body hormone DHT, which causes the growth of the prostate to help treat symptoms such as frequent or difficult urination and may reduce the chance of acute urinary retention. The active ingredient finasteride belongs to a class of medications called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Some patients may take the medication in different doses to treat male pattern baldness or in hormone replacement therapy.

How is Finast used?
Finast should be taken with a full glass of water and can be taken with or without food. The tablets should be taken once per day unless otherwise directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct length of treatment and dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. The tablets should be taken whole and not crushed, chewed or bitten as it may cause a sore throat.

Adverse effects
Finast may cause unwanted side effects such as:

• Breast enlargement, tenderness, swelling or discharge
• Depression
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing
• Testicle pain
• Decreased volume of ejaculation
• Decreased sex drive or performance
• Erectile dysfunction

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.

Warnings
The medication should not be used or handled by women as it can lead to potentially fatal reactions to an unborn child.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Finast is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
