TOXO-MOX 500 (Amoxycillin/Potassium Clavulanate) is a veterinary antibiotic used for treatment many infectious bacterial disease. TOXO-MOX 500 (Amoxycillin/Potassium Clavulanate) is effective in treatment infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and digestive system.

TOXO-MOX 500 (Amoxycillin/Potassium Clavulanate) active against a wide range of aerobic gram-positive bacteria (including strains that produce beta-lactamase) and gram-negative bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella spp., Moraxella catarrhalis.

TOXO-MOX 500 (Amoxycillin/Potassium Clavulanate) has a bactericidal effect, it inhibits the synthesis of the bacterial wall.

Clavulanic acid inhibits II, III, IV and V type of beta-lactamase, but it is inactive against I type of beta-lactamase, produced by Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp.

Clavulanic acid has a high tropism for penicillinases, and as a result forming a stable complex with these enzymes, that protects the antibiotic amoxicillin from enzymatic degradation under the influence of beta-lactamase.
