Liothyronine Sodium (thyro3 or T3)is a synthetic version of the thyroid hormone triiodothyronine. It is prescribed to treat hypothyroidism (insufficient hormone production by the thyroid). Hypothyroidism can result in a large number of problems if untreated including metabolic problems, lack of energy, sleeping problems, hair loss and weight gain. Liothyronine Sodium can also be used in case of goiters (enlarged thyroid).

Eltroxin is a replacement therapy for thyroid hormones. The active ingredient levothyroxine is used to treat a condition where the thyroid glands do not produce enough hormones on its own called hypothyroidism. Regulating hormone levels in the body can help treat symptoms such as hair loss, weight gain, lack of energy, slow speech, poor growth and dry or thick skin. Some people may also use it to prevent to treat goiters and congenital hypothyroidism.
